Bhubaneswar: In the last 24 hours, Odisha has recorded 745 new Covid-19 cases, of which 119 are in the age group of newborn to 18 years, taking total tally in the state to 10,15,083. Active caseload in the state now stands at 7,087.
Odisha also reported six (06) new fatalities in the last 24 hours taking total tally in the state to 8,084 as per a tweet of Health and Family Welfare department posted Friday morning. The state had reported eight (08) Covid-19 fatalities Thursday.
Angul, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Mayurbhanj and Puri districts reported one (01) death each.
Out of the 745 new infections, 435 were reported from quarantine centres while 310 persons contracted the virus locally. The state had registered 771 cases of coronavirus infections Thursday.
Khurda district registered the highest number of new cases with 297 persons testing positive for the disease. It was followed by Cuttack with 120 new infections.

Other districts that reported fresh Covid-19 cases are: Balasore and Mayurbhanj (32 each), Jajpur (27), Sundargarh (24), Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara (18 each), Puri (17), Bargarh and Nayagarh (11 each), Angul and Sambalpur (10 each), Bhadrak and Dhenkanal (nine each), Deogarh (six), Keonjhar (five), Nabarangpur (four), Ganjam and Kandhamal (three each), Nuapada and Rayagada (two each) and Koraput, Malkangiri and Subarnapur (one each).
The State Pool reported 72 new cases. These are persons who have come from outside Odisha and have tested positive.
A total of 1,87,30,180 swab samples have been cumulatively tested so far. The number of recoveries in the last 24 hours stands at 694.
