Rayagada: Amid a spurt in Covid-19 cases, Rayagada district administration has announced a containment zone at Jhodia Sahi near DFO Colony in Rayagada town.
The district administration announced the area a containment zone after 27 people from Jhodia Sahi tested positive for the disease.
While the village has been barricaded, the 27 families have been advised not to go out of the village. Similarly, entry of outsiders to the village has been prohibited. The affected families have been advised to follow all the Covid-19 norms strictly to win the battle against the virus.
Notably, Rayagada district Saturday reported 10 new cases of Covid-19. With this, the district’s tally has increased to 20,175. While 19,964 patients have so far recovered from the disease, 44 are currently undergoing treatment. The disease has so far claimed 167 lives in the district.
Meanwhile, Odisha Saturday registered 441 new Covid-19 cases including 75 patients below 18 years. The state also reported four new fatalities.
