Bhubaneswar: Two minor girls were reportedly abducted and raped at Patia railway station here Monday night, an official said, Tuesday.
The incident came to the fore after the victims, aged 12 and 14, narrated their ordeal before their parents, who informed the Childline authorities Tuesday.
According to Childline sources, the victims, who reside with their parents in Patia area, were playing near the railway station Monday when two youths of the locality abducted them and took them to the railway station where they took turns to outrage their modesty.
“They even threatened the girls of dire consequences if the minors dare to reveal their ordeal before anyone. Later, the victims managed to come out of their clutches and reach home Tuesday morning,” said Childline Bhubaneswar director Benudhar Senapati.
“The Government Railway Police (GRP) has registered a case (10/23) in connection with the incident,” Senapati said, adding that a dedicated GRP team has launched a probe.
