Rourkela: A man was allegedly beaten to death by his neighbour over a land dispute in Hatisoul village under Mahulpada police limits of Odisha’s Sundargarh district, a source said Monday.
The deceased was identified as Chaitu Nayak, and the accused is Laka Nayak.
According to the source, Chaitu and Laka had a dispute over a piece of land for a long time. They got into a confrontation over the same issue Sunday.
Later, the confrontation turned violent during which Laka allegedly attacked Chaitu with a piece of wood that subsequently led to the latter’s death.
Police have arrested Laka and launched a probe into the matter.
