Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Saturday issued Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha for the next two days.
Till 8.30 AM of March 28: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40–50 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over several districts of the state.
The weather agency issued Yellow Warning (be updated) for the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Gajapati and Ganjam. Thunderstorm with lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, and Keonjhar.
In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur over the districts of coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and at one or two places over the remaining districts of the state.
From 8.30 AM of March 28 to 8.30 AM of March 29: IMD has issued Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha.
Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Koraput, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, and Jajpur.
In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Angul, Keonjhar. Dry weather is likely to prevail over the remaining districts of Odisha.
The weather agency forecasted no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) over the next 4-5 days in the state.
In Bhubaneswar, a partly cloudy sky with possibility of moderate rain or thunderstorm is expected. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 37 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius respectively, the agency predicted.
In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 38.2 degrees Celsius was recorded at Jharsuguda & Sonepur while the lowest minimum temperature of 16.4 degrees Celsius was recorded at Nuapada in the state.
