Keonjhar: Police Thursday arrested the headmaster of Dimiria Upper Primary School in this district in the charge of molesting the girl students of the school. The accused teacher was identified as Narayan Senapati, 55, the headmaster of the school. Irked over the development, guardians locked up the headmaster and complained to the Telkoi police station. A case was registered in this connection and Senapati produced in the court, Telkoi IIC Saiprabha Rout said.
Meanwhile, Senapati has rejected the allegations. According to the complaint, Senapati used to detain the tribal girl students of Class-VII and Class-VIII under various pretexts at his office and molest them. He also warned them not to disclose the matter before allowing them to go home. The matter came to the light after as many as 12 girls informed the guardians, school committee members, and villagers. A meeting was called Wednesday comprising the guardians and school management committee members.
However, the headmaster did not turn up at the meeting. Enraged, the guardians gheraoed the school and locked up the room in which Senapati was living. Later, they called the police. Police and block education officer Subhash Chand Mohanty rushed to the spot and detained the headmaster
