Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police Friday busted an inter-state all-women gang of thieves with the arrest of nine members of the gang from Nayapalli Police station limits of Bhubaneswar.
ACP Sanjeev Satpathy said police also seized stolen goods worth around Rs 2 lakh from their possession.
Police said some members of the gang have managed to flee with the stolen goods and efforts are on to arrest them. All the nine are from West Bengal. The gang used to visit various states mainly during festive seasons and target shopping malls to steal.
The members carry bags inside their sarees in which they put the stolen articles. Police arrested them while they were stealing from a shopping complex in Nayapalli area of the capital city Friday.
