Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar in its weather forecast dated June 21, 2023, issued a Yellow Warning for heavy rainfall over several districts in Odisha.
The weather agency also flagged a Yellow Warning for heatwave conditions in several Odisha districts.
Upto 8.30 AM of June 22: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts.
Besides, as per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Boudh, Ganjam, Subarnapur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur districts.
In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over south Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and at a few places over the remaining districts of the state.
The weather agency also forecasted heatwave condition to prevail at one or two places over Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Bargarh districts, as per a Yellow Warning (be updated).
From 8.30 AM of June 22 to 8.30 AM of June 23: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Cuttack and Khurda districts.
The Yellow Warning also alerted that heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts.
The weather agency forecasted maximum temperature (day) is very likely to fall further by 3 to 5 degree Celsius at many places in the districts of Odisha over the next three days and no large change thereafter.

In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a partly cloudy sky with possibility of moderate rain or thundershower is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 37 degree Celsius and 27 degree Celsius respectively.
In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 41.2 degree Celsius was recorded at Sambalpur while the lowest minimum temperature of 23.0 degree Celsius was recorded at Nabarangpur, the bulletin informed.
