Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar in its weather forecast dated June 22, 2023, issued a Yellow Warning for heavy rainfall over several districts in Odisha amid monsoon onset in the state.
The maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to fall by 3 to 5 degree Celsius at many places in Odisha over the next two days and no large change thereafter.
Upto 8:30 AM of June 23: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri and Khurda districts
IMD also flagged a Yellow Warning for heavy rainfall that is very likely to occur at one or two places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, and Jajpur districts.
Besides, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati districts.
In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur in most places over the districts of south Odisha and at many places over the districts of north Odisha.
From 8:30 AM of June 23 to 8:30 AM of June 24: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Puri, Ganjam and Kandhamal districts.
IMD also flagged a Yellow Warning for heavy rainfall that is very likely to occur at one or two places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Dhenkanal districts.

Apart from that, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur in most places of Odisha.
In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 35 degree Celsius and 26 degree Celsius respectively.
In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 42.6 degree Celsius was recorded at Sambalpur while the lowest minimum temperature of 23.0 degree Celsius was recorded at Balasore, the bulletin informed.
