Malkangiri: Computed Tomography Scan (CT scan) facilities will now be available for free to patients at the Malkangiri headquarters hospital, a report said Wednesday. Thousands of patients from Malkangiri district or from neighbouring Chhattisgarh who are dependent on this hospital will get the facility. A CT scan machine has been provided to the hospital by the state government and separate technician to run the equipment has been appointed in the hospital. The matter came to the fore after the facility was inaugurated by Nabarangpur MP Ramesh Chandra Majhi in the presence of Chitrakonda MLA Purna Chandra Baka, his Malkangiri counterpart Aditya Madhi, special development council chairperson Adma Raba, former MLA Manas Madkami, Zilla Parishad chairperson Samari Tangul, Tuesday.
Malkangiri Municipality chairperson Manoj Kumar Barik, his deputy Kabita Mohanta and chief district medical officer Dr. Prafulla Kumar Nanda also attended the inauguration. This development has spread cheers among the residents as they thanked the Chief Minister for installing the equipment and making the facility operational which is a major initiative of the state government. Patients and their attendants borrowing for treatment of various ailments will now get relief after the installation of the facility, the report added.
