Bhawanipatna: Youth Congress workers allegedly showed black flags and hurled eggs Tuesday at vehicles in which three BJD MLAs were travelling at Narla in Kalahandi district.
Sources said that Junagarh MLA Dibya Shankar Mishra, Narla MLA Bhupinder Singh and Lanjigarh MLA Pradip Kumar Dishari were going to Narla to inaugurate a building of the District Primary Teachers’ Association and attend the 26th District Level Teachers’ Day celebrations.
However, as they reached the venue they were shown black flags by Youth Congress members and eggs were hurled at the vehicles in which the lawmakers were travelling.
The Youth Congress workers raised slogans against Mishra for his alleged involvement in the murder of school teacher Mamita Meher.
They said that Mishra has no right to attend the programme. The Congress workers also condemned the Odisha government as students in schools of the block are suffering due to shortage of teachers.
