Cuttack: Eminent music director and composer Swarup Nayak passed away Friday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Cuttack.
A source said that Nayak was diagnosed with throat cancer and had been under treatment for the past several years. He breathed his last at the age of 76.
Notably, Nayak has made significant contributions to the Odisha film industry through his music composition and direction. Some of his best works include ‘I Love You’, ‘Pua Mora Bhola Shankara’, ‘Udandi Sita’, ‘Sashu Ghara Chalijibi’, and ‘Mana Rahigala Tumari Thare’.
A pall of gloom descended Odia entertainment industry after the news of Nayak’s demise broke.
