Bhubaneswar: Under the influence of cyclonic circulation over South Andaman Sea, a low-pressure area is likely to form over southeast Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours. It is likely to intensify into a depression over Westcentral Bay of Bengal around November 16, 2023, IMD Bhubaneswar in its Monday’s mid-day weather report said.
Notably, the upper air cyclonic circulation over south Andaman Sea extends upto middle tropospheric levels tilting southwestwards with height.
Till 8.30 am of November 15, dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
From 8.30 am of Nov 15 to 8.30 am of Nov 16: According to the weather agency, light to moderate rain/ thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Puri, Jagatsinghpur and at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Khurda, Cuttack. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of the state.
From 8.30 am of Nov 16 to 8.30 am of Nov 17: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Kendrapara, Bhadrak and Cuttack districts. Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Dhenkanal and Mayurbhanj districts.
In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain/ thundershower is very likely to occur at many places places over the districts of Ganjam, Khurda, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Bhadrak and at a few places over the remaining districts of coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal and at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Angul, Boudh, Malkangiri, Koraput. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of the state.
From 8.30 am of Nov 17 to 8.30 am of Nov 18: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Puri and Dhenkanal districts.
In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain/ thundershower is very likely to occur at many places places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and at a few places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Angul, Puri and at one or two places over the districts of Boudh, Sundargarh, Ganjam, Deogarh, Khurda, Nayagarh. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of the state.
The highest maximum temperature of 33.6 degree Celcius was recorded at Paradeep and the lowest minimum temperature of 13.6 degree Celcius was recorded at Nabarangpur in the plains of Odisha.
No large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) during the next four or five days at many places over the districts of Odisha.
In Bhubaneswar, over the next 24 hours, fog/ mist is likely to occur in the early morning. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 31 degree Celsius and 19 degree Celsius respectively.
