Nayagarh: Coinciding with Ram temple consecration in Ayodhya, a 73-foot-tall shrine of Lord Ram is slated to be inaugurated at Fatehgarh in Odisha’s Nayagarh district Monday, a source said.
According to the source, the temple has been built with donations from villagers and devotees from across the state at over Rs10 crore. Fategarh residents contributed half of the funds required for the temple’s construction. The temple project, initiated in 2017, garnered widespread support and involvement from the local community.
Benudhar Pradhan, the vice-chairman of Bhapur block and a member of the temple trust, informed that the pre-inauguration ceremony is expected to witness the presence of Puri Govardhan Peeth Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati.
The temple trust has extended an invitation to Puri’s titular king Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb, although his consent to attend the ceremony is yet to be confirmed, Pradhan added.
The temple is situated atop a hill approximately 1,800 feet above sea level which can attract tourist footfalls in future, a local man added.
