Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: Acting on the direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman Kartik Pandian visited the Millennium City to review the ongoing development works at SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCBMCH), which is being transformed into an AIIMS-plus institution.
He took stock of various works at the project site, held discussions with the officers concerned and instructed them to complete the construction works within timeline.
The project is being implemented at a cost of Rs 4,500 crore which includes the residential blocks and the 2,058-bed hospital.
He visited the various components of the plan at the work site, and interacted with the engineers and the executing agencies. He asked them to ensure quality of the work. He told the executing agencies to enhance deployment of manpower to expedite the project work. The
5T Chairman has stressed on the timely completion of the project with high quality works, as per reports.
SCB Medical College is one of the premier medical colleges of India. It was started in 1944, after being upgraded from Odisha Medical School. Gradually, it underwent multiple phases of development, expansion and advances to fulfil the healthcare needs and aspiration of the population of this part of the country.
