Bhubaneswar: Social services organisation ‘Chinta O Chetana’ will hold the 46th edition of ‘Baishakhi’ festival in Bhubaneswar, the organisers informed Saturday. The two-day event will take place April 15 and April 16 amid Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
Organisation secretary Surendra Das said the festival will begin with ‘Shree Jagannath Pahandi’ where ‘Ghantuas’, Odissi and Gotipua dancers will present their enchanting performances to appease the divinity.
A host of cultural activities will be organised on this occasion. A number of artists from different fields of performing arts from and outside the state will participate in the programmes. The event will feature performances by classical dancers and musicians as well as folk artists of the state.
Chinta O Chetana is a premier social organisation of the state founded by Harekrushna Mahtab in 1980. The organisation is not only dedicated to cultural engagement but also committed to the growth of socially, economically and educationally oppressed communities.
