Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has urged the people to give their suggestions and participate in the Budget-making process. The suggestions will be used by the Finance Department in the process of preparing the Annual Budget for 2024-25. “Finance Department has been holding Pre-Budget consultations with a cross-section of the society. I am to indicate here that our government is the people’s government. So there is a need to seek common people’s proposals and opinions for the budget-making process,” read a communique from the Chief Minister’s office.
To make the budgetary process more open and participative using Information and Communication Technology (ICT), the Finance Department has initiated obtaining inputs for Budget preparation through the dedicated Budget web portal, e-mail, WhatsApp and SMS. The Finance Department has invited suggestions in a structured format in the Budget web portal https://budget.odisha.gov.in/ to be used as input in the preparation of a full-fledged Annual Budget. Similarly, suggestions for Budget are also being invited through WhatsApp to the Mobile number (+91) 9438161111, and through social media platforms like X (@FdOdisha), Facebook (@FinanceOdisha) and Instagram (@fdodisha).
