Bhubaneswar: A local court here Wednesday sentenced three miscreants to undergo five years of imprisonment in a burglary case that took place in 2023 under Capital police station limits. Additional public prosecutor (APP) Rakesh Kumar Pothal said the convicts were identified as Sukanta Nayak, Milu Behera and Ganga Reddy. Sub-divisional judicial magistrate, Judge Sisir Kumar Sahoo convicted the trio. In addition, he slapped a penalty of Rs 1,800 on them.
As per a senior cop at Capital police station, the trio burgled the house by breaking open the main gate’s lock. The house owner Jyotiranjan Mishra had gone for a morning walk, January 11. They later decamped with valuables, including TVs, digital cameras and mobile phones. Later, Jyotiranjan complained to the police station, the cop added. The Capital police launched an investigation and arrested the trio in connection with the matter.
