Kuanrmunda: A month after giving birth to a son, a minor Thursday levelled rape charges against a youth. The man hails from a village under the jurisdiction of Kuanrmunda outpost of Biramitrapur police station in Sundargarh district.
The youth, Muna Bodra, was arrested and after medical examination in Biramitrapur, was produced in court, IIC Aanand Chandra Majhi said. Police said the survivor, a resident of Simdega area in Jharkhand, was working as a domestic help at a person’s house in Kuanrmunda two years ago.
Muna, a neighbour of the survivor’s employer and belonging to the same area, raped her when she was alone at her employer’s house. After the crime, Muna threatened her against revealing it to anyone.
Later, Muna’s lust increased and he forced her to have physical relationship with him on several occasions. Alarmed at Muna’s increasing lust, one day she fled to her parents’ house in Simdega.
A few months ago the survivor experienced pain in her lower abdomen. Her family took her to Simdega Government Hospital.
After tests, the doctor told the family that she was six months pregnant. She gave birth to a boy December 22.
After the incident, the survivor’s family came here and asked Muna to marry her. Muna refused outright, and the survivor’s family filed a complaint. Police arrested Muna after registering a case under Sections 376 (3), (2N)/506 of IPC and POCSO.
