Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: The 46-second teaser of the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup theme song composed by AR Rahman was released Sunday by Hockey India. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik shared it on social media.
The song written by lyricist Gulzar is titled ‘Jai Hind India’.
The music video, directed by Rahman, features superstar Shah Rukh Khan, prominent hockey players and actress Nayanthara. Patnaik tweeted about the teaser release and thanked Rahman for the World Cup anthem.
The video ‘Jai Hind India’ is Rahman’s tribute to Indian Hockey and intends to inspire the young generation toward domination in sports and leadership. Rahman is joined by Shah Rukh, Nayanthara, Sivamani, Neeti Mohan, Shweta Mohan, Sasha Tirupathi, Shweta Pandit, Harshdeep and the national hockey World Cup players in the celebration video shot by Ravi Varman.
Meanwhile, even though the entire action will be centered on the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack too will have its fair share of the razzmatazz as Rahman will be performing live in the city November 28. In this connection a meeting was held at the office of district Collector Aravind Agrawal in Cuttack Sunday in the presence of DCP (Cuttack) Akhilesvar Singh.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, Agrawal said since the inaugural ceremony coincides with Bali Yatra, the district administration has a challenging task in hand. The inaugural ceremony of the event would be held in two phases. While the first would be held at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar November 27, the second would be held at Barabati Stadium the following day.
