A temple where Indians are scared to go

Death is a universal truth and everybody has to accept it. The soul will either go to heaven or hell depending upon one’s deeds. But there is a temple in India where one’s soul comes and is reborn.

Yes, you heard that right. There is a temple of Yamraaj in Bharmour of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh.

Locals say that one room inside this temple is dedicated to Chitragupta, who is considered the secretary of Yamraj, and keeps an account of all the good and bad karmas of a person. It is said that after death, every soul is first brought to this place, before proceeding to its journey further. According to the belief, when a person dies, his soul is first brought to this room after death.

Chitragupta gives full details of the soul and then the soul is taken into his chamber, where Yamraj decides its fate, whether to send it to hell or heaven.

This room is called the Court of Yamraaj where decision is taken about the soul. The room has gates made of gold, silver, copper and iron.

After the decision of Yamraaj, the Yamdoots move souls to heaven or hell from these gates according to the person’s deeds.

The temple here looks more like a home. But many people fear to go inside it, and just pray from outside and leave.
