Bargarh: Just eight days after rescue of a newborn girl from a drain at Padmapur in this district another similar such case happened Sunday morning.
Another newborn girl was found and rescued from the side of railway track near Jogimunda, few metres from Barpali Railway Station in this district.
A local resident while going somewhere heard the baby crying. He traced the source of the sound and came upon the newborn girl. He immediately rushed the baby to Barpali government hospital.
While the baby is said to be in good health condition, it is yet to be ascertained who had dumped her. However, some said that because the newborn was a girl, she may have been dumped. Others alleged that the baby had been given birth out of wedlock for which it had been dumped.
Notably, another newborn baby was rescued December 14 from a drain near Padmapur. She is currently under the care of the adoption home run by Kasturba Gandhi Matru Niketan at Ambapali on the outskirts of Bargarh town.
