Bhubaneswar: Police Monday detained a person who allegedly assisted his brother-in-law in sexually abusing a girl at Nilachakra Nagar area of Salia Sahi under Nayapalli police limits here.
The detainee has been identified as Krushna Chandra Naik. The main accused, Tukuna Naik, who allegedly sexually abused the girl, is still at large.
Krushna accompanied along with his absconding brother-in-law went to the residence of the girl when the victim was alone, as her relatives were away that night.
While Tukuna entered the room and raped the girl, Krushna locked the room and stood guard.
They allegedly threatened her not to reveal the matter before her parents but she informed her parents about the incident. Subsequently, her mother lodged a written complaint against the duo at the Nayapalli police station Sunday morning. The police have started investigations into the allegations after detaining Krushna. Police sources informed that medical examination of both the accused and victim will be conducted after the arrest of the main culprit.
