Acid victims, autistic kids walk the ramp

Bhubaneswar: A fashion show hosted by students of JD Institute of Fashion Technology as part of the Fourth JD Annual Design Awards ceremony generated a sense of excitement in their display of traditional designs and fabrics here Wednesday.

Around 120 collections including fashion designs, interior designing, jewellery and textile designs were on display at the institute focusing on the theme The Change.

In addition to the expo, students along with several acid attack victims and autistic children walked the ramp to spread the message of Change. The ramp walkers showcased aesthetic and technical prowess of 120 garments in twelve sequences.

The presence of international model Sofia Dana Czuchra on the ramp show inspired many fashion aspirants at the venue.

The gala show also witnessed the release of Odia film title Jete Gori Sete Story. Actor Sabyasachi who dons the lead role in the film was present on the occasion. The actor expressed the hope that the film will be released in the theatres across the state soon. It was planned to be released in Odia, Tamil and Telugu simultaneously, he added.

Institute director Harsh Dalal said, “The Annual Design Awards is one of the biggest platforms for the students to showcase their flair and an opportunity to work with leading designers by major brands in India and abroad.”
