Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Film Development Corporation (OFDC) Thursday held a meeting headed by Chairman Kuna Tripathy to resolve the ongoing dispute between Manoj Mishra and film producers who have banned the actor for two years in the Odia film industry. The meeting was attended by actor Arindam Roy, Odisha Cine Artistes’ Association Secretary Sritam Das, Producer Tutu Nayak and others from the Odia film fraternity.
Though the meeting was regarding Manoj Mishra and the ban put on him, he was absent in the meeting. “Manoj Mishra is our brother. I do not want this dispute to linger any longer and affect him adversely. I spoke with the producers in the meeting and they told me that they do not harbour any ill feelings against him. They also assured me that the ban will be lifted the day he comes for a dialogue,” Tripathy said. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Sritam said, “Everybody present in the meeting agreed to lift the ban on him, which is a positive sign.
I would like to request Manoj Mishra to come forward and have a dialogue with them.” Ollywood industry since last week has caught itself in infighting after actor and producer Manoj Mishra was boycotted from the Odia film industry for two years by the producers and the Utkal Cine Chambers of Commerce over the allegation that his supporters attempted to stop actor Arindam Roy’s new movie ‘RAM’.
