Mumbai: Actor Parineeti Chopra has recently disclosed that there was phase in her life when she became like a ‘zombie’ and use to cry at least 10 times a day. During the promotion of her upcoming film ‘Jabariya Jodi’, the actor said that she had been sucked into a ‘black hole of depression’ and it took her a substantial amount of time to come out from it.
The 30-year-old Parineeti Chopra said that there was phase in her life in 2014 and 2015 when she slipped into depression after two of her films ‘Kill Dil’ and ‘Dawaat-e-Ishq’ bombed at the box office. During the same period she broke up with her then boyfriend whom she did not name.
“The end of 2014 and all of 2015, it was this period which was the worst time in my life. Both ‘Daawat-e-Ishq’ and ‘Kill Dil’ did not work. They released back-to-back and bombed. Suddenly, I did not have money. I then broke up with my boyfriend. Literally, all the departments in my life were down. Nothing positive to look forward to,” Parineeti Chopra stated.
“I just stopped meeting people, did not go out, stopped eating. I just slept and slept and slept. I became like a zombie. I was always crying and crying… maybe 10 times a day,” added Parineeti.
Her ‘Jabariya Jodi’ co-actor Sidharth Malhotra then asked her how did she get out of depression. Parineeti credited her brother Sahaj as well as herself for the turnaround. “Finally I decided enough is enough and I had to get out of the pit. I did not allow myself to get sucked into it. My brother Sahaj was also constantly egging me to put the disappointments behind me. Which I finally did,” said the actor.
It should be stated here that after the ‘Jabariya Jodi’ release Parineeti will start working on the Saina Nehwal biopic.
