Akshay Kumar: Khiladi of Hindi film industry, Akshay Kumar did odd jobs before stepping into the film industry. He was in Bangkok where he learnt martial arts and later starting teaching martial arts to students on return to India. With the help of one of his students, Kumar landed a modelling assignment and his journey kicked off.
Chandrachur Singh: Tere Mere Sapne debutant Chandrachur Singh was a music teacher by profession. He was teaching at Doon School before his career took off.
Kader Khan: King of comedy Kader Khan, before entering the film industry in the early 1970s, used to teach at MH Saboo Siddik College of Engineering, Mumbai, as a professor of Civil Engineering. After quitting the movies, the actor was teaching Urdu and Arabic in UAE. Khan died 31 December 2018.
Nandita Das: After completing Masters from the Delhi School of Social Work, Nandita Das started teaching. She began her acting career with the theatre group Jana Natya Manch. She has taught at the Rishi Valley School. However, she worked in over 40 feature films in 10 Indian languages, and in several professional plays.
Anupam Kher: The actor owns and teaches in a well-known acting school.
