Berhampur: Students of government-owned Industrial Training Institute (ITI) here will soon have a brush with modern technology and undergo training on tool management, a report said Tuesday.
The matter came to the fore after a team from Asian Development Bank (ADB) visited the ITI Tuesday and expressed their willingness to establish a modern tool and automobile workshop on the ITI premises. The development has brought cheers among students and teachers of the ITI.
The team comprising ADB’s Singapore representative Kong and Neha Saini from India after their arrival visited the workshops of various trades as well as a scrap museum on the ITI premises.
The team members, while going round the workshop of the automobile department, expressed their intent to help in establishment of a modern tool and automobile workshop for students of the automobile trade.
When contacted, principal Rajat Kumar Panigrahi of ITI confirmed the development. He said students will undergo training after the workshop is established to upgrade their skills. All students, faculties and staff of the ITI were present during the visit of the ADB team.
