Rajnagar: Amid the spike in Covid-19 positive cases, migrants have started returning from hotspot states to Rajnagar area in Kendrapara.
The administration is on its toes, ensuing arrangements at quarantine centres at Kurunti and Talachua panchayats, a report said. According to the report, the number of Covid-19 positive cases has touched 92 in Rajnagar.
Seven people were found positive Wednesday. The administration has decided to keep the migrants retuning from hotspot states like West Bengal, Maharashtra, Delhi and Chhatishgarh in two centres.
Kurunti quarantine centre is equipped with beds and facilities to accommodate 150 migrants while the capacity of the Talachua centre is 200. Besides, there is provision of food and safety kits for the migrants.
Meanwhile, a temporary Covid Hospital was set up on the premises of Sri Sri Jagannath Mahavidyalay. Block officials have taken stock of the arrangements at the quarantine centres and the Covid Hospital.
As Covid cases are on the rise, the officials of the block administration and the health department have been routinely reviewing the situation in Rajnagar.
Meanwhile, Covid management teams have been formed at village level with ASHAs, Anganwadi workers and village headmen as members.
They have been told to keep watch on the migrants retuning to villages and inform the administration about the people developing Covid symptoms.
BDO Rabindra Kumar Pradhan said all possible steps have been taken to deal with the Covid situation in Rajnagar.
