Mumbai: After Kangana Ranaut, Ranvir Shorey joined the list of the actors who took a jibe at Jaya Bachchan for her ‘thaali’ comment.

Ranvir tweeted, “Thaaliyaan sajaate hain yeh apane bachchon ke liye. Hum jaison ko phenke jaate hain sirf tukade.Apana tiffin khud pack karke kaam pe jaate hain hum. Kisi ne kuchh diya nahin hai. Jo hai, woh hai jo, yeh log humse le nahin sake. Inka bas chalta toh woh bhi apane hi bachchon ko de dete (The decorate platters for their own kids. People like us get crumbs thrown at us. We pack our own tiffins and leave for work. No one ever gave us anything. What we have therefore is ours. They can’t take it away from us. But if they could, they would have given this it to their own kids too) (sic).”

Earlier Kangana tweeted: “Kaun si thaali di hai Jaya ji aur unaki industry ne? Ek thaali mii thi jismein do minute ke role, item numbers aur ek romantic scene milta tha woh bhi hero ke saath sone ke baad, Maine is industry ko feminism seekhaaya, thaali desh bhakti naaripradhaan filmon se sajayi, yeh meri apni thaali hai Jaya ji aapki nahin (Which platter are you talking about that Jaya ji or her industry served me? There was one 2-minute role, item numbers and a romantic scene that I could have gotten but only after sleeping with the hero. I thought the industry feminism. Decorated the thaali with women-centric, patriotic films. This is my platter Jaya ji, not yours) (sic).”

“Jaya ji would you say the same thing if in my place it was your daughter Shweta beaten, drugged and molested as a teenage, would you say the same thing if Abhieshek complained about bullying and harassment constantly and found hanging one day? Show compassion for us also Folded hands (sic)” she added.

On the other hand, a number of Hindi film stars stood in support of Jaya Bachchan like Sonam Kapoor and Taapsee Pannu.
