After Shibu, Hemant seeks votes for Anjani

Udala: With only two days to go for the final phase of elections, the JMM has been leaving no stone unturned to garner support of tribals for its Mayurbhanj MP nominee Anjani Soren amid intense campaigning by other major parties like the BJD and the BJP.

A day after JMM president and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren campaigned for his daughter and party’s nominee Anjani Soren in the district, his son Hemant Soren (former Jharkhand Chief Minister) visited the district Friday and campaigned for his sister at Jashipur.

Hemant addressed a rally, appealing to the people to vote for Anjani and Congress MLA nominee for Jashipur Mahendra Nayak. Notably, the JMM and the Congress have a seat-sharing arrangement in the district.

The former Jharkhand Chief Minister asserted that if the people vote for Anjani and Mahendra, the tribals of Odisha will see development.

Shibu had lambasted the BJP Thursday at Hatimada football grounds in Sriramchandrapur panchayat under Udala block. He dubbed the saffron party as a communal one.

He had appealed to the people to maintain a distance from such a political party. The JMM chief pointed out the drubbings of the saffron party in three states of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The ex-Jharkhand Chief Minister sought support of the people for his daughter so as to ensure development of tribals in the district.
