Ailing MLA breaks down on camera after CT scan

Cuttack: A CT scan was conducted Saturday on Cuttack-Choudwar MLA Pravat Biswal, who was arrested in connection with Seashore chit fund scam, which revealed that he has a abscess in his stomach.
An ailing Biswal reportedly broke down in front of media camera following the medical tests at SCB Medical College & Hospital.
He looked lean and weak both physically and mentally. Sitting on a wheel-chair and wearing a cotton shirt and trouser, the legislator became emotional and cried seeing people around him.
“I am feeling very weak. I don’t lie and truth will win,” said Biswal, who is on an interim bail from Orissa High Court in ponzi scam, in tearful eyes after being administered the CT scan here at the hospital.
His health condition deteriorated after Biswal was arrested by CBI in connection with chit fund scam and lodged in Jail. He was admitted to SCB Medical College & Hospital in critical condition.
“Earlier, he had undergone ultrasound and the doctor found an abscess developed inside his stomach. Even after repeated surgeries, the abscess is not getting dry. Therefore, the doctors wanted him to undergo CT scan to know the reason about the abscess filled in fluid,” said Biswal’s brother.
“His health condition is comparatively developed. But, he has become weak physically and mentally,” he added.
Earlier, the legislator had undergone surgeries due to infection in his spinal cord and stomach. He has been undergoing treatment at the state-run medical college since 2017.
Meanwhile, the Orissa High Court granted him interim bail in April in connection with the chit fund scam.
