Air Vistara to launch service October 25

Bhubaneswar, August 13: Air Vistara will launch daily flights from Bhubaneswar to New Delhi October 25, said Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) director Sharad Kumar.
The 65-seater Airbus A320 aircraft has 22 business class, 28 economy and 15 premium economy seats, he added.
The fare will start from Rs 5,000 and the private airline will adopt dynamic fare system, airport officials said.
The airline would operate direct flights in the morning and evening from Bhubaneswar to New Delhi. The morning flight 732 will reach Bhubaneswar at 9:20am and would take off for Delhi at 10am.
The evening flight 761 will land in city at 6:45pm and leave for Delhi at 7: 25pm, said Vistara New Delhi station coordinator Ivor Patcheco.
Airport officials said Vistara, a joint venture between Tata Sons Limited and Singapore Airlines Limited (SIA), has been allotted a ticket counter and a back-up office at BPIA, to commence its operations.
Airline officials who carried out a pre-feasibility study, on the flight operation from the city to New Delhi are optimistic about the financial viability of the project, announced the airport
officials.
The airliner will help give a new fillip to the state’s tourism sector, airport officials hoped.
Meanwhile, a high-level committee is scheduled to discuss with Chief Secretary GC Pati August 19 on eviction of slum-dwellers occupying land allotted to the airport by the GA
department.
