Bhubaneswar: Money laundering and sextortion case accused Archana Nag’s husband Jagabandhu Chand Wednesday brought in allegations against film producer Akshay Parija of being the main mastermind behind the extortion racket.
Jagabandhu levelled the allegation when he was being taken to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar for a medical examination under police protection.
According to Jagabandhu’s allegation, Akshay Parija is the main mastermind of the extortion racket. Parija lured him and his wife with money and used them as scapegoats. There is a list of people who are involved with Parija in this high-profile case, he said.
Jagabandhu further demanded early release of his wife Archana.
Notably, Jagabandhu was arrested October 21, 2022 after a girl named Shradhanjali lodged an FIR at Khandagiri Police Station October 2, 2022. She had accused Archana, Jagabandhu and their associate Khageswar Patra of trapping her in their racket, forcing her into prostitution to blackmail bigshots.
Earlier, Orissa High Court had granted bail to Archana Nag April 12 in the alleged sextortion case involving film producer Akshay Parija. The case was registered at Nayapalli Police Station in Bhubaneswar September 30, 2022.
However, Archana will remain behind bars as two more cases are pending against her. The two cases pending against her include the ED case and the Shradhanjali case.
