Mumbai: The simultaneous 2019 elections have kicked off in India. Ahead of elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had appealed actors to vote in huge number.
Owing to the PM’s request, all actors did their part too.
The Kalank actor Varun Dhawan also is in the list of actor who franchised his vote. He said ‘We will fulfill our duty’. Varun will cast his vote from Mumbai.
Interestingly, his Kalank co-star Alia Bhatt cannot vote. Alia herself has admitted that she can’t vote. The reason is that she has a British citizenship, and doesn’t have an Indian citizenship.
Born 15 March 1993, Alia Bhatt is the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan. Fans are amazed after learning that Alia has a British citizenship.
She is the recipient of several accolades, including three Filmfare Awards, Bhatt is one of the highest-paid actresses in India. She has appeared in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list since 2014 and was featured by Forbes Asia in their 30 Under 30 list of 2017.
Adding to it, Akshay Kumar also does not have citizenship of India but have a Canadian citizen.
