Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Tuesday sanctioned 1419 projects worth Rs 34.45 crore for 147 gram panchayats (GPs) of six blocks under Ama Gaon Ama Bikash programme in the block level.
Patnaik sanctioned the projects after interacting with people from Tarava (Dhenkanal), Basta (Balasore), Banarpal (Angul), Agalpur (Balangir), Dharakote (Ganjam) & Jharigaon (Nabarangpur) blocks.
As Ama Gaon Ama Bikash surpassed the 100-blocks mark, the CM hailed it as an excellent example of how 3Ts- Technology, Teamwork & Transparency can be leveraged for accelerating rural development in the state. As many as 21,960 projects worth Rs 547.74 crore have been sanctioned under the flagship programme till date.
Of the sanctioned amount, Rs 3.59 crore has been earmarked for 141 projects in 21 panchayats of Tarava block in Dhenkanal district while Rs 7.15 crore has been sanctioned for 323 projects in 31 panchayats of Basta block in Balasore district.
Similarly, Rs 8.79 crore was approved for 317 projects in 35 panchayats of Banarpal block in Angul district, Rs 5.25 crore for 262 projects in 20 panchayat of Agalpur block in Bolangir district, Rs 4.50 crore for 262 projects in 18 panchayats of Dharakote block in Ganjam districts and Rs 5.53 crore for 250 projects in 22 panchayats of Jharigaon block of Nabarangpur district.
The Chief Minister advised the people and the block representatives to ensure timely completion of the projects.
