Ambulance overturns in Mayurbhanj, 4 injured

Baripada: As many as four persons sustained serious injuries after a 108-ambulance carrying a patient overturned at Belam square near Badasahi in Mayurbhanj district Sunday morning.

Locals rescued the injured and sent them to the Baripada hospital.

The incident occurred while the vehicle was en route to Baripada district hospital, carrying a patient who was bitten by a snake.

The four-wheeler skidded off the road and turned turtle when the ambulance driver applied brake after a motorcyclist came in front of the vehicle.

The driver, an ambulance staff, the patient and a relative of the patient sustained critical injuries.
