Loisingha: The staff of a 108 ambulance allegedly dropped a premature foetus on NH-26 at Borda near Loisingha in Bolangir district Wednesday.
When the ambulance, which was heading from Loisingha to Bargarh, reached Linejuri on National Highway 26, a staff allegedly dumped the foetus near hume-pipes kept on the roadside.
Soon, a Hyva truck unknowingly crushed the foetus under the vehicle’s wheel.
The local residents alleged that the staff of the ambulance did the inhumane act to destroy proof.
When contacted, doctor of a local CHC Smita Satpatahy said none had been referred in an ambulance from the hospital.
On being informed, a police team reached the spot and started an investigation.
