Amul releases doodle on PM Modi’s Janata Curfew

Amul posted a topical on social media with the caption, “#Amul Topical: National appreciation of all those working round the clock to keep India safe!”

In the doodle, the Amul mascot, wearing a mask, can be seen standing in the balcony and banging plates. The cartoon also had pictorial description of three essential steps to fight Covid-19 like sneezing while covering the mouth, washing hands and avoiding physical contact.

The text on the cartoon read, “Khaali haath nahin, thaali haath thanks kijiye!” and “Janata’s favourite!”

On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address to the nation, on the novel coronavirus, urged citizens to go on a Janata Curfew from 7 am to 9 pm on March 22. He also asked them to show appreciation for people working on the frontline to fight the virus by standing in their balconies and clapping and ringing their bells for five minutes on March 22, at 5 pm.

After the announcement, many celebrities had taken to Twitter to show their support for the idea. And now, Amul has also released a doodle on the same.

This is not the first time that Amul has released a doodle on the novel coronavirus. They had also posted a topical on work from home and social distancing recently.

The doodle showed the Amul mascot working on a laptop while sitting on a sofa, with a plate of bread and butter and a water bottle next to her. The text on the picture read, “Home for breakfast, lunch and dinner? So are we.”

Till now, India has registered 250 novel coronavirus-positive cases and four deaths, one each in Punjab, Maharashtra, Delhi, and Karnataka.
