Kashinagar: Showing high-handedness once again, Andhra Pradesh carried out concrete road laying work under Kashinagar block in Gajapati district of Odisha Saturday morning.
However, the illegal road laying work was objected by Gajapati district administration on the spot. The administration also seized several bags of cement, construction materials and mixer machines being used at the site, an administrative official of the district informed.

According to local official sources, the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) of Sitampeta under Katuru sub-division in Srikakulam district of the southern-state was laying the concrete road.
The work was underway on a stretch of road from bordering Alati village in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh up to Singipur FCI godown under Kashinagar block in Gajapati district of Odisha.
On being informed by local villagers, Gajapati Sub-Collector Sangram Sekhar Panda swung into action. He directed his subordinate officials to immediately visit the disputed site and stop the road laying work.
A team of officials comprising of Kashinagar tehsildar Shanti Swarup Mishra, local police IIC Sushant Kumar Sahu rushed to the spot.
Labourers engaged in the road laying work fled from the spot. The seized construction materials and mixer machines have been kept inside Kashinagar police station premises, IIC Sahu expressed.
On being contacted, the Sub-Collector said, “We will soon put up demarcation stones in the area including a signage in Odia.”
