Angul enter summit clash

Rourkela, Jan 16: AK Club, Angul made it to the final of the All India Biju Patnaik football tournament beating Sports Hostel, Cuttack in the first semifinal at the Ispat Ground here Friday.

Riding on a brace by Saroj Das, Angul edged past Sports Hostel 2-1 in a nail-biting match. Saroj opened the account for Angul in the 36^th minute and then got his second of the match one minute after the breather. BP Padhihari got one back for Sports Hostel in the 41^st minute, but that was proved to be a consolation goal only.

In a quarterfinal match played Friday, SEC Railway, Nagpur thrashed Sunrise, Noida 3-0 to enter the semifinals.  OACS Khan (67^th minute), Amit Antony (67^th minute) and Akhif Faroz (81^st minute) were the scorers for the winning team.
