Bhubaneswar: Odisha health department Thursday said that 1,641 persons who earlier tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered and are being discharged.
Out of the 1,641 persons, 365 are from Ganjam, 357 from Khurdha, 91 from Sundargarh, 86 from Jajpur, 65 from Gajapati, 63 from Cuttack,63 from Koraput, 60 from Mayurbhanj, 50 from Kandhamal, 42 from Rayagada, 41 from Nayagarh, 39 from Malkangiri, 35 from Bolangir, 33 from Dhenkanal, 33 from Jagatsinghpur, 31 from Balasore, 29 from Keonjhar, 25 from Bargarh, 24 from Bhadrak, 21 from Jharsuguda, 21 from Puri, 20 from Sambalpur, 16 from Kalahandi, 16 from Kendrapara, 11 from Nabarangpur, two from Deogarh and one each from Angul and Boudh.
With this, total recoveries in the state now stand at 48,576.
Meanwhile, Odisha’s COVID-19 caseload touched 70,020 with the detection of 2,898 new cases, while eight more fatalities pushed its coronavirus death toll to 380. As many as 1,792 new cases were reported from quarantine centres, while 1,106 people tested positive for the infection during contact tracing.
The state Wednesday tested 53,478 samples for COVID-19, taking the total number of tests conducted so far to 11,15,947.
