Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar city Monday reported 49 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the total tally in the city to 1231, said BMC.
Among the freshly detected cases, 34 were reported from quarantine centres while 15 contracted the virus locally.
At the same time, 24 patients have also been discharged from COVID-19 hospitals Wednesday, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) in a tweet.
All the patients have been shifted to COVID-19 hospitals while contact tracing is underway with regards to local cases.

The primary contacts and immediate neighbourhood of the COVID positive patients have been asked to undergo home quarantine. The areas are also being sanitised, BMC said.
With the addition of the new patients, the number of active cases in this city has reached at 642 while a total of 576 patients have so far recovered from the disease. The city’s death toll remains at 11.
The 15 local contracted cases were reported from Barmunda, AG Square, Pokhariput, Nayapalli, Ganganagar, Unit-III, Laxmisagar, Bharatpur, Kharavel Nagar, BJB Nagar and Tankapani road.
