Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Sunday said that 52 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the city in past 24 hours.
While 34 of them are quarantine cases, remaining 18 are local contact ones. Meanwhile, 29 persons who earlier tested positive for the disease recovered.
“Further contact tracing is still continuing. Primary contacts & nearby houses are being quarantined, sanitised and will be under active surveillance,” BMC said. It further added that all positive cases have been shifted to dedicated COVID hospitals.
Meanwhile, COVID-19 caseload in Odisha crossed the 17,000-mark Sunday with 736 more people testing positive for the infection, while five fresh fatalities pushed the death toll due to the disease in the state to 91.
According to state health department, of the 736 new cases, 481 were reported from quarantine centres, while the remaining 255 were contacts of COVID-19 patients.
