Paralakhemundi: At a time when the state is yet to come to terms with Pari and Swati death cases in Nayagarh and Bishnupriya death case in Balasore, report of an eight-year-old boy being allegedly kidnapped has come to the fore from Gajapati district.
The boy, identified as Jami Hardhik, was last seen playing with his friends at Kumuti Sahi in Kashinagar NAC Wednesday evening. According to his friends, two unidentified bike-borne miscreants took him away with them.
Hardhik was playing with his friends in the locality when the miscreants approached them. The miscreants asked Hardhik the address of his father’s workplace. They then took him with them. Just then his friends realised there was something wrong and then they gave a chase. But it was too late. The miscreants had already crossed the village boundary by then.
While the reason behind Hardhik’s kidnap is yet to be known, the family members after coming to know about the incident from his friends have lodged a report with Kashinagar police station.
The Kashinagar police have investigated a probe into the case and launched a manhunt to trace the boy.
