Anti-Maoist poster surfaces in Kandhamal

Baliguda: Days after members of CPI-Maoists affixed a poster in a Kandhamal village asking people to reject the government and join the rebels, an anti-Maoist poster surfaced at Baliguda bus stand in Kandhamal district Saturday.

Anti Naxal People’s Peace Force has issued it, the poster proclaimed.

The rather unknown body has asked through the poster to observe the period from July 30 till August 5 as ‘Naxal condemnation week’.

“You are the murderers of tribals and are anti-development. Your martyrs’ week can no longer be tolerated. Those slain Maoists are not martyrs. They are the murderers,” the poster contents read.

The outfit asked why the people should close commercial and educational institutions and keep themselves confined during their so-called ‘martyrs’ week’.

“It is nothing but torture on common people. You should refrain yourselves from observing this,” the poster urged the ultras and the public.

The poster also asked the common people to open shops, markets and educational institutions and run vehicles as they do normally.
