Vows to focus on industrialisation and steps to develop the district’s infrastructure

Anubhav says Baijayant is dishonest

BJD Nominee for Kendrapara LS Seat Anubhav Mohanty files nomination

Kendrapara: The BJD nominee from Kendrapara Lok Sabha constituency, Anubhav Mohanty, filed his papers Tuesday before the District Collector–cum-Returning Officer on the last day for filing nominations.

Anubhav reached the Collector’s office accompanied by party workers and his wife Barsha Priyadarshini for filing his papers.

Speaking to the media, Anubhav said that he would stress industrialisation and would take steps to develop the district’s infrastructure.

He also said that he would take steps to develop the railways and will ensure safe drinking water supply to everyone.

Commenting on the BJP candidate from Kendrapara LS seat, Baijayant Panda, who was BJD MP twice, he said that Baijayant did not do anything to bring industries to the district or develop its infrastructure.

Anubhav said that Baijayant did nothing except set up some water tanks. “He is a dishonest man who worked as an agent of the BJP while in the BJD. The people of Kendrapara will reject him,” the actor-turned-politician added.

“He tried to unseat Naveen Babu by spreading rumours about his illness and become the CM. The voters of Kendrapara will teach a lesson to Baijayant as it is the Karmabhumi of Biju Babu and his son,” said Anubhav.

Finance Minister Sashibhusan Behera also filed his papers from Kendrapara Assembly seat on a BJD ticket. He said he would fight the polls with the support of district BJD leaders and workers.

“My priority would be to ensure that schemes of the Naveen government reached the people. I would try to take charge of the development of the oldest civic body in the state and would also develop rural areas,” said Behera.

The former BJD MLA from Kendrapara Assembly seat, Sipra Mallick, filed papers as an Independent candidate after being denied the BJD ticket.

Aul Congress MLA Debendra Sharma too filed papers for the Aul Assembly seat on a Congress ticket. He will lock horns with BJD’s Rajya Sabha MP Pratap Keshari Deb.

The prime focus would be to end politicking by royal families in Aul, complete half constructed bridges and expose the Naveen government’s corruption, Sharma said.

There are nine candidates in the fray in Kendrapara Lok Sabha seat. Thirteen candidates have filed papers in the Mahakalapada Assembly seat, while 12 candidates are in the fray in the Kendrapara Assembly seat reserved for SCs.

Eleven candidates have filed papers in the Patkura Assembly seat and 10 in Aul Assembly seat. Eight candidates have filed nominations in the Rajnagar Assembly segment.
