Bhubaneswar: Following in the footsteps of the Hindi film industry, which has, in recent times, shown a penchant for producing biopics, its counterparts in Odisha have also decided to trek the same path. A biopic on former Odisha Chief Minister and legendary leader Biju Patnaik is on the anvil.
The first poster of the film titled ‘BIJU BABU’, the father of present Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, was released at a special function conducted near the birthplace of Biju Patnaik in Cuttack, Tuesday. Scores of fans and movie lovers gathered at the venue to witness the event.
Actor-turned politician Anubhav Mohanty will play the lead role while national award-winner Odia filmmaker Nila Madhab Panda will be directing the film. The biopic is being produced by produced by Akshay Parija. According to information available, the film is set to release in April this year.
Akshay said, “Biju Babu is an emotion. He is a pride for all Odias. The movie will illustrate the extraordinary deeds of Biju Babu and some important phases of his life.”
