Anubhav turns benevolent for ‘junior Anubhav’

Angul: Odia actor-turned-politician Anubhav Mohanty showed his benevolent side by promising to bear the entire treatment cost of his lookalike Sangram Mallick, who is undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after suffering an accident. Anubhav on his Facebook page also promised Friday to meet Mallick on his return from Delhi.

Sources said, Sangram is known as ‘junior Anubhav’ in his locality for immaculately copying Anubhav’s dance steps, style of dialogue delivery and of course the actor’s way of dressing. In many stage shows, he has won hearts by performing the actor’s steps.

Mallick had a narrow escape December 6, when the van in which he and some other fellow artistes were travelling, met with an accident at Alabanka under Derabish block in Kendrapada district. While five died, Mallick survived after suffering injuries.

He was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition. While Mallick’s fans and Angul town denizens are praying for his speedy recovery, some organisations have come forward and are now pooling a fund to meet his medical expenses.

Some of Sangram’s well-wishers uploaded news about the accident and Sangram’s health condition in the social media from which Anubhav came to know about his lookalike. He mentioned in his comment that he would meet Sangram in the hospital and bear his treatment cost.

This apart, Anubhav has also called up Jyotiranjan Sahoo in Angul and have informed him that he would also request the government to help Mallick.
