Arati Singh contender for Anandapur seat

Hatadihi: Arati Singh has reportedly emerged as one of the Biju Janata Dal’s front runners for Anandapur assembly constituency.

Political grapevines suggest she may be considered as BJD’s nominee for the forthcoming assembly elections in view of her organisational skills.

Edging aside many contenders, she was elected as councilor, then deputy chairperson of the municipality and now chairperson.

She was nominated thrice as the president of BJD women wing of Keonjhar district.

As the Chief Minister and party president Naveen Patnaik has been pitching for 33 per cent reservation for women candidates, she stands a chance to be picked as the most deserving nominee in the district.

She has been actively working for the development and welfare of women and nurturing links with women SHGs.

Arati’s political acumen and experience may help her to be acceptable to all sections of people.

The Chief Minister has emphasized the need to provide party tickets to at least one woman candidate in each district. In this connection, she and her supporters hope, the party might consider her candidature for assembly elections.
